What Bin Cleaning Providers Quote For

Not every provider does every job, so say exactly what you need when you request quotes.

How Bin Cleaning Works

1. Request. You give your bin count, bin sizes, suburb and preferred frequency.
2. Quote. Providers confirm the price, cleaning day, frequency and what is included.
3. Schedule. Recurring cleans are usually booked for refuse collection day, once the bins are empty.
4. Clean. Each bin is washed inside and out, rinsed, sanitised and deodorised. Equipment and products depend on the provider.
5. Return. Bins are drained and put back where you agreed.
6. Check. You check the result and raise any problem with the provider.

Ask each provider whether they bring their own water and how they deal with the dirty water afterwards.

Types of Bin Cleaning Service

• Kerbside wheelie bin cleaning. A mobile team cleans bins at the kerb or in the driveway after collection.
• Scheduled packages. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly cleaning on a set day.
• Once-off cleaning. A single deep clean with no contract.
• Bin area and bin room cleaning. Washing the floors, walls and surfaces where bins are kept.

Recurring Package or Once-Off Clean

• Recurring package. A lower price per clean and bins that stay clean through summer. Suits households, businesses and complexes.
• Once-off clean. You pay for one visit. Suits a neglected bin, a move into a new home or trying a provider first.

Bin Cleaning Prices at a Glance

Ballpark prices so you can sanity-check a quote. They are not quotations and no provider is bound by them.

Bin count, bin size, frequency, condition and access set the final price.

What to Include in Your Request

• Your town or suburb.
• Number of bins, and the size if you know it, for example 240-litre wheelie bins.
• Your refuse collection day.
• Frequency: weekly, fortnightly, monthly or once-off.
• Bin condition: maggots, caked-on waste or strong odours.
• Access: gate codes, estate rules and where the bins are kept.
• Whether the bin area or bin room must be cleaned as well.

Availability

Request quotes from providers serving your area. Availability depends on your location and service requirements. Bin-cleaning providers are independent and decide which routes and jobs they take on.

Comparing Bin Cleaning Providers

Whoever you consider, compare like with like:

• Price basis. Per bin, per clean or per month, and any minimum charge.
• Schedule. Which day they clean, and what happens when collection runs late or falls on a public holiday.
• Method. Pressure washing, hot or cold water, and the products used to sanitise and deodorise.
• Water. Whether they bring water, and how they collect or dispose of dirty water.
• Inclusions. Lids, handles, wheels and the ground around the bin.
• Terms. Contract length, notice period, payment and whether VAT is included.
